About Kano

“Kano is built on the premise that surface-level advice is not enough when it comes to mission-critical systems; real buy-in requires credible expertise around the table” — Ignacio Chechile, founder and managing partner.

Kano is an expert firm founded by Ignacio Chechile, a Systems Engineer with 24 years of experience developing technology including space systems, avionics, radars, comms, and industrial embedded systems.

Ignacio specializes in bleeding-edge R&D where uncertainty is high, design space is vast, and speed is king. He has founded tech startups, held CTO and VP positions in space & defense companies and scaled engineering teams globally. He led the development of the world's first SAR smallsat constellation, the first indigenous SATCOM bus in the Nordics, and countless hardware/software codesign cycles.

Author of several books on systems engineering, space technology, startups and tech management, Ignacio is also a researcher working on AI methods for chip design and development. Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP), certified by the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).

Our Thesis

Analytical depth rooted in hands-on experience is becoming scarce.

We bring independent expert advice to stakeholders facing real technical uncertainty.

We move fast.
We are trilingual: we speak business, technical, and scientific.

On-Board Power: The uncomfortable bottleneck of future Electronic Warfare

The thirst for more power is not exclusive to data centers and frontier AI labs. Defence applications show the same thirst, and electronic warfare (EW) is the best example, where its capabilities are ultimately constrained by how many watts an aircraft can generate, sustain, and dissipate on board. This drives the architecture of every EW platform in service and determines what the next generation of airborne electronic attack can and cannot do.
